BT has won an award for ‘exemplary practices’ in the recruitment, retention and promotion of older workers.
The telecoms firm has become one of only 10 companies to win the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) award, which recognises non-US employers that demonstrate innovative practices to address issues for workers aged over 50.
These practices include career-planning tools and workplace health and wellbeing initiatives.
Wayne Vande Wall, CEO for BT Global Services, said: "BT prides itself on valuing the contributions of people of all ages and actively promotes the value of operating in mixed age teams."
