Cancer Research UK has devised a scheme whereby its 200 information systems staff can share 140 desks.

The head office staff can book their desk using the Condeco software suite provided by RNM Systems. This means the department was able to expand its workforce to deal with large projects but because staff frequently work off-site all desks will now be used and space will not be wasted.

John Swindle, information systems business change manager at Cancer Research UK, said: "Condeco has the potential to raise office utilisation, reduce our energy bill, reduce out carbon footprint and, in the process, make real estate savings."
