New legislation on maternity and paternity leave regulations took effect yesterday.

 

The amendments remove the distinction between non-cash benefits during ordinary maternity leave (the first 26 weeks) and additional maternity leave (after 26 weeks).

Non-cash benefits include gym membership, company cars, childcare vouchers and mobile phones.
